Proposition 65 Warning
With Pixie's statement
The State of California requires companies to provide warnings about products that potentially expose consumers to certain chemicals. Prop 65 does not ban the sale of any products containing these chemicals; it only requires warnings.
We are a socially responsible and transparent company, and we are sharing this warning because we want our customers to be equipped with all of the information they may need to make informed decisions.
What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65 is a California “right to know” law that requires companies to tell consumers if their products, including food, contain or cause an exposure to one or more of the chemicals on the State’s list. Prop 65 warnings are a common sight in California—on consumer products, as well as grocery stores and restaurants.

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals, including lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Should I be worried?
There are over 900 different man-made and naturally occurring chemicals and substances. on the Prop 65 list and new compounds continue to be added. For example, “aspirin” is on the Proposition 65 list and both man-made and naturally occurring metals are on the list. Lead is an example of a Prop 65 chemical that is ubiquitous in our environment and thus often presents itself in food and beverages as a naturally occurring substance. Our products comply with all requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, all of our products are certified USDA Organic.
Why do your competitors’ products not have a warning?
All companies that sell products into California have to comply with Proposition 65. We cannot comment on the reasons why other companies do not to provide a Proposition 65 warning.
